About Annette

Annette Garvey writes high-heat western romance about whole people: women with lives of their own, men rooted to the land, and the choices they make.

She grew up country in East Texas. She married her own cowboy, a farrier who has rodeoed, roped calves, and shoes horses. She writes the stories she wanted to read, grounded in real work, real people, and the belief that strong women deserve happily-ever-afters too.

She and her husband have three daughters with their own adventures, and three dogs. By day she is a full-time practicing attorney.

She comes from a Texas family that was here before statehood. They held original land grants from Spain and fought for independence from Spain and then Mexico. The work in her line runs from cotton and cattle to the oil field and the high rises of Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio.
