About Annette

I write high-heat western romance about women with lives of their own and men rooted to the land. Strong women get happily ever afters too.

I grew up country in East Texas and married my own cowboy, a farrier who has rodeoed, roped calves, and spent years shoeing horses. I write the stories I wanted to read, where the work matters and falling in love happens while there’s still plenty that needs doing.

My husband and I have three daughters and three dogs. By day, I’m a practicing attorney.

My family’s Texas roots go back before statehood, to Spanish land grants and the struggles for independence from Spain and then Mexico. Their work has ranged from cotton and cattle to the oil fields and the high-rises of Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. That history is part of what I bring to the page.
